Demographics, the affordable housing shortage, the innovation economy, shifting globalization and resiliency are the five primary structural themes driving real estate investment demand, according to a report by Clarion Partners’ Indraneel Karlekar, managing director, global head of investment research, and Jeb Belford, managing director and chief investment officer, which was published in the June issues of Institutional Real Estate Americas and Real Assets Adviser.
“Artificial intelligence (AI), green technology and sustainability, digital health, cloud computing, precision agriculture, and cybersecurity are just a few high-growth segments that will continue to generate long-term demand for a variety of real estate sectors, such as life sciences, data centers and cold storage,” according to the report.
