A new wave of infection has started to surface across some regional countries, raising concerns over the nascent economic recovery currently under way.
More than 200 new cases were reported over consecutive days in Tokyo, continuing an uptrend in infection cases since the state of emergency was lifted in late May.
In Hong Kong, a third wave of infection has returned. More than half of the 172 new cases between July 5 and July 11 were local infections, despite border and quarantine measures.
