From niche segment to global business: the U.S. net-lease sector is blooming

The net-lease property sector saw a notable spike in investment volume last year, catching the eye of both global and domestic investors, according to CBRE.

Investment volume in this sector increased by 10.9 percent to a total of $77.5 billion in 2019, making it the highest year on record, according to Will Pike, vice chairman and managing director of net lease property group at CBRE. In a video interview with IREI, he explained this represents major growth in the net-lease sector, elevating it from a niche portion of the commercial real estate marketplace to a global business.
