Laura Gaylord

Laura Gaylord joined the Board of Directors of Institutional Real Estate, Inc. (IREI) in 2026. She brings more than 30 years of experience in the institutional real estate industry, with expertise in governance, capital strategy, and global platform integration.

Most recently, Ms. Gaylord served as a Managing Director at DWS, where she led the capital formation of their institutional alternatives business. She led the integration of DB Real Estate and RREEF into a unified global operating platform across the United States, Europe, and Asia. In addition, she played a key role in advancing institutional governance standards in the post-financial crisis environment—enhancing transparency, strengthening operations, and restoring stakeholder confidence.

She has overseen complex, multibillion-dollar institutional client relationships, advising pension funds, sovereign wealth funds, insurance companies, and public plans on investment strategy, risk management, and governance reporting. She has also worked closely with regulators and board-level stakeholders to navigate market volatility, safeguard business continuity, and support enterprise risk and oversight strategies.

Prior to DWS, Ms. Gaylord was a senior partner at RREEF, where she helped shape the Americas capital strategy for its institutional real estate platform, including through its acquisition by Deutsche Asset Management.

Ms. Gaylord also serves on the board of the U.S. Ski and Snowboard Association. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of Utah.
