Indexing funds: A new global fund index will help attract more capital to the nonlisted real estate sector

The introduction of the Global Real Estate Fund Index in 2013 was a big step forward for the nonlisted real estate funds market. The collaboration among ANREV in Asia Pacific, INREV in Europe and NCREIF in North America represents the integration of three member-driven, nonprofit organisations and serves to meet the data needs of the expanding global activities of their members. The GREFI tracks the performance of nonlisted real estate funds on a global scale, and forms the basis for further collaboration to improve market transparency and accessibility of the nonlisted real estate industry globally.
