Ireland has always had the fundamental market characteristics international investors say they want: an English-speaking, common-law jurisdiction; full access to the European Union single market; an outsized concentration of foreign direct investment, particularly from EMEA-headquartered technology and pharmaceutical businesses; a young, growing population; and a structural housing deficit that will take the best part of a decade to close.
Today, however, international interest has been boosted by the fact that policymakers are recognising the positive effect private capital can have on housing supply when the private and public sectors work together.
