Blackstone sees $1t market for stabilized data centers

by

Blackstone expects the emerging market for long-term ownership of stabilized data centers could eventually surpass $1 trillion as artificial intelligence drives demand for digital infrastructure, according to the firm’s second-quarter earnings call on July 23.

The firm has expanded its data center platform to $185 billion in total value, including facilities under construction, up from $130 billion at the beginning of 2026. Blackstone expects to lease more than three times its previous annual record this year and said the platform could double over the next several years.

Blackstone also has launched a vehicle focused specifically on long-term ownership. In May, Blackstone Digital Infrastructure Trust, or BXDC, completed an initial public offering of up to $2 billion. The publicly traded REIT is focused on acquiring newly constructed, income-producing and stabilized data centers leased to investment-grade hyperscale tenants under long-term contracts.
