Falling property values, tighter capital markets, and economic headwinds are driving more U.S. tenants to buy office buildings rather than lease them, according to an Urban Land article.
Owner-occupier transactions accounted for 20 percent of total office sales in first quarter 2025 — up from 15 percent in 2024 and less than 8 percent annually before the pandemic, per JLL.
