The $152 million Employees Retirement System of Texas (ERS) committed $75 million to the Campus Real Estate Partners II fund, managed by Campus Apartments, in August.
Campus Apartments invests in a variety of student housing property types — specifically properties that serve universities with enrollments of at least 10,000 students.
The fund previously received a $50 million commitment from the Teachers’ Retirement System of Louisiana in July.
In July, Texas ERS committed $150 million two real estate funds: $100 million to the PAG Real Estate Partners II fund, managed by Pacific Alliance Group, and $50 million to Pennybacker Capital’s fifth real estate fund.
As of March, the pension fund had a 13.2 percent ($18.6 million) actual allocation to real estate, with a 14 percent target allocation to the asset class.
