by Kali Persall

The $374 million Spokane (Wash.) Employees’ Retirement System (SERS) has issued an RFP seeking investment consulting services.

The scope of services will cover five years and will include an asset-allocation study; manager searches; ongoing consulting services; quarterly and annual investment performance reports; quarterly onsite performance presentations to the board; annual review of investment policies; quantitative and qualitative analysis of investment strategies as needed; occasional meetings with the investment committee, management and staff; and service as a fiduciary to the plan.

Proposals are due May 16, with the contract to be awarded Aug. 3.

As of Dec. 31, 2021, SERS had a 9.1 percent allocation to real estate, against a 9 percent target. The real estate portfolio was valued at $34 million.
