Seven predictions for supply chains in 2025

Prologis Research has released a special report, Seven Bold Predictions for 2025: Supply Chain Trends to Watch, which identifies the major areas to keep an eye on during the coming year.

Prologis’ first trend predicts bulk vacancy rates will quickly fall for buildings 500,000 square feet or larger in the United States and Europe, due to a combination of increasing demand and limited new supply. Expansion has resumed, and there has been a 65 percent year-over-year increase in new bulk deliveries. The return of large logistics users and space expansions is accredited to strengthening business conditions.

Air cargo volume is expected to boom, supported by a steeply increasing e-commerce market. In 2024, air cargo volumes rose 9.4 percent year-over-year globally. The fast movement of goods was fueled by cross-border commerce and ocean shipping disruptions.
