Total leasing activity across Europe’s logistics market reached 6.58 million square meters (71 million square feet) in first quarter 2026, a 6 percent increase from first quarter 2025, according to Savills’ latest research. Over the quarter, activity was driven mainly by a few key markets. The Netherlands was the top performer, with a 41 percent increase quarter-over-quarter, followed by the United Kingdom, 14 percent; Belgium, 7 percent; and Spain, 6 percent. Madrid and Barcelona combined recorded more than 540,000 square meters (5.8 million square feet) of take-up in first quarter 2026, an increase of 6 percent from fourth quarter 2025, marking their highest quarterly increase.
