More than one in four (27 percent) of respondents said their building had been the victim of a cyberattack in the past 12 months, according a RICS Facilities Management survey. This represents a significant increase of 11 percent on the previous year, when 16 percent of respondents said they had experienced an attack.
Approximately 73 percent of more than 8,000 business leaders believe a cybersecurity incident will disrupt their business in the next 12 to 24 months. Augmented by the rising capability of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and the pace of change, the threat to cyber security is expected to accelerate further.
