Retail bankruptcies surpass levels during financial crisis

Retail bankruptcies have surpassed the levels during the global financial crisis, according to Hedgeye, a stock analyst firm.

The following are retailers who filed Chapter 11 in 2016 and thus far this year:

·      99 Cents Only Stores

·      Aeropostale

·      American Apparel, which has plans close its remaining location

·      BCBG Maz Azria, which will be closing 120 stories

·      Bon Ton department stores

·      Charming Charlie

·      Claire's Stores

·      Crocs

·      David’s Bridal

·      Eastern Outfitters, whose chains include Eastern Mountain Sports and Bob’s Stores

·      Evergreen Saver's (thrift store cha
