Second quarter office leasing volume reached the highest quarterly total since the onset of the pandemic, according to JLL in its Second Quarter 2024 U.S. Office Outlook Report.
Second quarter office leasing volumes saw 50.2 million square feet of activity, up 15 percent quarter-over-quarter and up 7 percent year-over-year. The largest driver of activity has been a return of large-scale transactions, as the number of large leases per quarter has grown consistently since 2023 and in the second quarter reached the highest level since mid-2022, nearly doubling activity in early 2023.
