NYSCRF commits $375m to Brookfield Strategic Real Estate Partners V

The New York State Common Retirement Fund (NYSCRF) has committed $375 million to Brookfield Strategic Real Estate Partners (BSREP) V, a program of Brookfield.

BSREP V is a closed-end, opportunistic fund that will invest in properties and real estate operating companies in North America, Brazil, Europe and Australia. The fund has a fundraising goal of $15 billion. Its predecessor, BSREP IV, raised $17 billion in equity.

NYSCRF, a public pension fund, had $278 billion in total assets under management, as of Dec. 31, 2024. As of then, it had a 12 percent real estate allocation target, with $27 billion in total real estate assets.
