Workers in London seem to be avoiding a return to the office in locations where they don’t have the opportunity for a decent lunch or a bit of retail therapy after hours, according to an analysis from CBRE Investment Management (CBRE IM) and PLACEMAKE.IO.
Official Transport for London (TFL) data suggests that offices with shops and restaurants nearby are enjoying pre-pandemic levels of commuters traveling, while offices in areas without those amenities are struggling. The numbers also suggest that returning to the office during the Tuesday to Thursday mid-workweek is the “new normal.”
