L&G developer to deliver 300 new senior homes in England

Legal & General’s new operator and developer of senior housing in the United Kingdom, Guild Living, has purchased a prime 2.5-acre town center site in Walton-on-Thames in England, the company announced Aug. 28.

The seller was British Land. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

The site marks Guild Living’s third scheme under development since its launch in the second quarter of 2019. The developer is looking to deliver more than 3,000 new retirement homes in the next five years, with 300 new homes in the Walton area alone.

L&G said Guild Living will look to incorporate “beautiful architecture and interiors in its communities.” It will also provide academically-accredited wellness programs and activities with a focus on enabling more connection between residents. Residents will have access to expansive local parkland to the south and a seven-story retail and leisure complex nearby.
