Investors heavily invest in leasing and purchase-sale transactions proptech

Investors pulled back from funding U.S. proptechs significantly in the first quarter 2020, which led to a decline of 41.5 percent year-over-year in the first half of the year, according to Deloitte Center for Financial Services, in its titled The Path Ahead — Impact on proptechs report. However, in the second quarter investment grew by more than 100 percent year-over-year. This second-quarter growth was largely directed toward U.S. proptechs, which raised more than $2 billion and comprised nearly 95 percent of proptech investments globally.

It was also heavily weighted toward proptechs that focused on leasing and purchase-sale transactions, which received 71 percent of the funding.
