Institutional investment continued to flow into the U.K. seniors housing market in 2021, with more than £800 million (€945 million/$1 billion) spent in the first nine months of the year.
This represents an increase of 73 percent on comparable 2020 levels. With a significant pipeline of deals expected to complete before year-end, the annual investment volume is expected to reach a record high for the second successive year.
Rising investment reflects the ongoing strong demand from investors to gain a foothold in a sector that, at its core, is underpinned by solid long-term demographic change. Volume is also being supported by a wider pivot from investors away from traditional real estate assets.
