Real estate firm Goodman has filed an application to develop a data center campus in Sydney, according to media outlets.
According to a SEARS application submitted to the New South Wales government, Goodman plans to develop a data center campus in the Eastern Creek area of Sydney. The proposal, known as Project Atlas, includes two three-story data center buildings totaling approximately 99,310 square meters (1.1 million square feet), with up to 500 megawatts of capacity, as well as an on-site substation. Planning documents indicate the total investment could reach up to AU$5 billion ($3.4 billion).
The company has reported a global power pipeline of approximately 5 gigawatts, with about 3.4 gigawatts secured and available, and the remainder at various stages of procurement.
