by Sara Kassabian

San Francisco–based Farallon Capital has raised $153.5 million on behalf of its latest fund, Farallon Real Estate Institutional Partners, according to a filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

Farallon Capital declined to comment on fundraising activities.

The fund is targeting between $350 million and $400 million in capital and will invest with an opportunistic investment strategy over about eight years, according to Hedge Tracker. Farallon Real Estate Institutional Partners Fund is the hedge fund’s first vehicle aimed squarely at the institutional real estate market and launched in March 2013.
