The latest research from CBRE shows the supply of European logistics space has dropped to a new low, with average vacancy rates across the region sitting just under 2.3 percent, a decrease of 50 basis points year-on-year.
The low availability levels are restraining the number of units that can be offered to occupiers and have left many requirements unmet. Despite a slower quarter, take-up in the first three quarters of 2022 totaled 19.56 million square meters (210 million square feet). This represents a 2.2 percent decrease from the same period of the previous year, when take-up reached 20 million square meters (215 million square feet), showing occupational demand has remained robust, particularly in the production and manufacturing sectors.
