COOs more likely to increase total office space

by Andrea Zander

Surveyed COOs expect to increase their office space, despite the switch to remote work, according to PwC’s U.S. Pulse Survey. One in five operations leaders expect to see their need for office space decline over the next three years, while the majority (63 percent) anticipate they are likely to need more space and only a few (15 percent) expect they will not have to make any change.

Findings from PwC’s survey of COOs show few companies are ready to embrace a fully remote model that would affect all functions; these leaders continue to see barriers stand in the way. In the near term, however, they also recognize there are policy gaps to fill before businesses can regain confidence to be back on site.
