Canadian investors increase investments in Korea

by Andrea Zander

Canadian investors are growing their presence in the Asia Pacific commercial real estate market.

Canadian investors’ real estate transactions in Korea from 2016 to 2020 totaled $3.5 billion, according to The Korea Herald. The figure was 12.4 times higher than it was during the previous five-year period, from 2011 to 2015, showing the sharpest uptrend among all Asia Pacific countries.

Korea outpaced India, whose deal activities between 2016 and 2020 jumped seven times to $5 billion, compared with the previous five years. China, which was the third-fastest, saw its real estate transactions from 2016 to 2020 reach $3 billion, up twofold from the 2011–2015 period.
