Brookfield to acquire office tower in central Tokyo

Brookfield Asset Management has agreed to acquire a landmark office building in Shiodome, central Tokyo, from a consortium of Japanese investors.

Completed in 2002, the 213-meter (698-foot) skyscraper is the global headquarters of Dentsu Group. It contains 1.3 million square feet of net leasable area, 48 floors above ground and five below ground.

The acquisition represents an opportunity for Brookfield to secure 100 percent ownership of a large-scale office asset in central Tokyo, a market characterized by limited vacancy, constrained new supply and strong long-term tenant demand.
