The Boston Retirement System has made two commitments of $10 million each to real estate fund. These commitments were made on Dec. 18, according to meeting materials.
Kayne Anderson Real Estate Partners VII, a program of Kayne Anderson, is an opportunistic closed-end fund. It will invest in senior housing, medical office and student housing opportunities across the United States. It has a fundraising goal of $3 billion. Its predecessor, Kayne Anderson Real Estate Partners VI, closed at $2.75 billion, $250 million over its initial goal.
AEW Partners Real Estate X, a vehicle of AEW Capital Management, is an opportunistic closed-end fund focused on diversified properties across the United States. It has a maximum size of $2.5 billion. Its predecessor, AEW Partners IX, closed with $1.2 billion in equity.
The Boston Retirement System is a public pension fund with $7.4 billion of total assets under management, with a 10 percent real estate allocation goal, as of Nov.
