Australia’s Aware Super injects $300m to Vantage’s APAC data center business

by Elise Mackanych

Aware Super, an Australian pension fund, has invested $300 million in Vantage Data Centers’ Asia Pacific business.

Vantage Data Centers operates 10 data centers across the Asia Pacific region, including Malaysia, Japan, Australia, Hong Kong and Taiwan. This investment was made with DigitalBridge through Skyline JV, the joint venture data center business which owns Vantage Data Centers Asia Pacific. Aware will take a minority stake in Skyline.

This marks Aware’s second data center deal in less than two years. Despite recent discourse regarding the risk of a data center asset bubble, the fund remains confident in the sector.

Of Aware’s A$210 billion ($148 billion) assets under management, the fund had A$22 billion ($15 billion) in infrastructure assets, with A$6 billion ($4 billion) in digital infrastructure assets.
