Global asset owners are continuing to increase exposure to private markets but are becoming more selective about where they deploy capital, according to the “2026 Global Asset Owner Barometer” from Marsh.
The survey of 430 asset owners representing more than $5 trillion in assets under management found 96.3 percent of portfolios include private-market exposure, with all private-market categories surveyed showing a net increase in allocation intentions. At the same time, 44 percent of respondents said they are pursuing greater selectivity across private markets, with valuations remaining the most significant factor influencing capital deployment.
