Asia Pacific transaction volume totals $34b in third quarter 2019

Asia Pacific commercial real estate transaction volume totaled $34 billion in the third quarter 2019, an increase of 17 percent quarter-over-quarter (q-o-q), according to CBRE. The figure was supported by the completion of several large and related-party transactions. Excluding related-party deals, investment turnover rose by 4 percent q-o-q.

The U.S.-China trade conflict and local social unrest continued to weigh on investment activity during the quarter in the Hong Kong market. Domestic investors accounted for the bulk of deals.

Chinese buyers completed just two acquisitions this quarter, the lowest since first quarter 2016.
