Asia Pacific logistics sector creates more sophisticated transactions

The inflow of capital into the Asia Pacific logistics sector has resulted in more sophisticated transactions and greater participation of both established and new investors/developers into the sector, reported JLL.

Key investment market themes include:

Rapid institutionalization: The world’s largest investors are increasingly making investments in logistics real estate. Global industrial volumes rose by 30 percent in 2019, overtaking retail as the second most active sector. Investment momentum continued in first half 2020, with global volumes totaling $60.2 billion, ahead of the $46.8 billion in the retail sector. Pursuit for platform deals: There is an increasing trend toward acquiring logistics platforms rather than individual assets.
