The Serbian government has signed a deal with Abu Dhabi–based developer Eagle Hills for a $3 billion waterfront development project in Belgrade, Serbia.
The Belgrade Waterfront is Eagle Hills’ first project in central and eastern Europe. The firm will develop a large area of wasteland on the banks of the River Sava into a 494.2-acre mixed-use center.
Belgrade Waterfront is the biggest project of its kind — not only in the region, but in Europe as well. The Belgrade Waterfront project will spur economic growth and strengthen the cooperation between Serbia and the United Arab Emirates
Under the project, more than 10.8 million square feet of residential space will be built in an approximately 437.3-acre area, along with approximately 8.1 million square feet of business and commercial space, as well as more than 667,362 square feet of public buildings (schools, cultural institutions and social welfare and healthcare institutions) and 2.6 million square feet of
