Session 1: Institutional Investment Evolution Masterclass with Investor Discussion | Nov 28 @ 10am PST – Alliance Global Advisors Co-Founders & Managing Partners Jennifer Stevens and Heather Fernstrom Border will provide a comprehensive review of the foundational elements of real estate investment and how understanding the history and current trends of institutional investment in real estate will prepare you for the future. The Masterclass will enhance the knowledge of your internal team by providing an understanding of fund structuring, LP and Consultant expectations during the life of an investment and provide insight on the competitive set’s response to investor needs and more.
Session 2: Sales Training | Nov 30 @ 10am PST – Geoffrey Dohrmann, Chairman, CEO & Editor-in-Chief at IREI will provide training on how to set clear objectives and develop a more effective approach to building your pitch books and formal presentations. You’ll learn how to structure your presentations in a way that will ensure yours will stand out from most if not all of your competitors.
Session 3: Real Estate Investment Best Practices | Dec 5 @ 10am PST – Alliance Global Advisors Co-Founders & Managing Partners Jennifer Stevens and Heather Fernstrom Border will educate your team on best practices in reporting standards, indices, terms and conditions and regulations related to fund and client level reporting. Additionally, you will gain an understanding of open-end and closed-end fund fee structures, how consultants evaluate fees, investor expectations related to ESG and DEI, benefits and drawbacks of registering with the SEC, the importance of an LPAC and more.
Session 4: Sales Training | Dec 7 @ 10am PST – Geoffrey Dohrmann, Chairman, CEO & Editor-in-Chief at IREI will provide training on how to customize your presentations in a way that ties the key elements of your offering to your prospects’ needs and objectives, enabling you to capture your audiences’ attention from beginning through the end. Finally, you’ll learn how to engineer the structure of your presentations to build positive momentum towards a close.
Session 5: Update on Recent Legal Trends in Real Estate Fund Formation | Dec 12 @ 10am PST – Larry Hass, Partner at Paul Hastings, will host an interactive session discussing vehicle structuring and legal concepts. This Masterclass will explore recent trends in key fund terms, including side letter provisions and structuring fund investment vehicles to include internationally diverse investors. Also highlighted will be recent developments in the SEC regulation of real estate investment managers and the offering of interests in private real estate funds.
Session 6: Environmental, Social and Governance | Dec 14 @ 10am PST – Alliance Global Advisors Co-Founders & Managing Partners Jennifer Stevens and Heather Fernstrom Border will dive into the rising importance of ESG and DEI considerations across the entire organization. The Masterclass will help you understand the foundation of ESG, including reporting metrics, third-party ESG accreditations, ESG’s role in the due diligence process and understanding the expectations of the institutional investor and consultant on the topic of ESG and DEI.

Jennifer Stevens is an executive-level professional with real asset expertise and extensive knowledge of the general partner and limited partner universe. Prior to forming Alliance Global Advisors, she spent sixteen years with The Townsend Group, where she gained experience in institutional portfolio management and consulting, strategic and investment planning, real asset investment underwriting, and a specialization in areas including ESG and industry best practice. Stevens was the lead portfolio manager for Townsend’s West Coast client base and ran Townsend’s San Francisco office, including certain growth initiatives. She has experience in both portfolio management and underwriting and was responsible for developing and leading Townsend’s ESG efforts. Stevens has served as a representative member of the UN PRI, GRESB, PREA, PREA Foundation Diversity Working Group, IREI, WIIN and NCREIF in addition to speaking at numerous educational and industry events. In 2016, she received the inaugural GRESB Leadership Award from the U.S. Green Building Council to recognize her efforts in establishing and growing Townsend’s ESG Program. In 2019, Stevens was included on Chief Investment Officer’s annual list of the world’s most influential investment consultants. In 2021, she received the GlobeSt. Women of Influence award. In 2022, she was elected to the PREA Board of Directors.
Heather Fernstrom Border

Heather Fernstrom Border is a versatile, performance-driven real asset professional building deep limited partner and consultant networks over nearly two decades. Prior to forming Alliance, she was managing director for National Real Estate Advisors and held positions with Hunt Investment Management and The Townsend Group. At those firms, she was responsible for assisting institutional clients in investment objective development, strategic planning, investment underwriting and capital raising. Border’s professional experience also includes 17 years in the private and public real estate sector, where she developed, implemented and led investor relations platforms. Throughout her career, she has held memberships at NAIOP, PREA and IREI, among others. She speaks and moderates various panels on industry-wide topics and was recently asked to participate on PREA’s Governance Committee. In 2022, Border received the GlobeSt. Women of Influence award and the GlobeSt. Real Estate Forum’s 50 under 40 award.

Geoffrey Dohrmann is the founder, chairman and CEO of Institutional Real Estate, Inc. He also serves as publisher and editor-in-chief of several leading industry publications, including Institutional Real Estate Americas, Institutional Real Estate Europe, Institutional Real Estate Asia Pacific, Institutional Investing in Infrastructure, Real Assets Adviser and Institutional Real Estate Newsline. Dohrmann also serves as conference producer of IREI’s industry events, including Visions, Insights & Perspectives (VIP) Americas, VIP Europe, VIP Infrastructure, IREI’s Annual CEO Summit and IREI Springboard. Paul Hastings
Larry Hass is a partner in the Corporate Department at Paul Hastings in New York. He is the head of the firm’s Global Private Investment Funds practice group and co-head of the firm’s Global Compensation, Benefits, and ERISA practice. Hass concentrates his practice in assisting clients in the formation of private real estate investment funds and other private equity funds, and in the management, operation and regulatory compliance of such funds. He is also recognized as a leading expert on the interpretation and application of the fiduciary responsibility requirements of ERISA. Before entering private practice, Hass served as an attorney at the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, as assistant counsel for Fiduciary Responsibility in the Solicitors Office of the U.S. Department of Labor, and as special assistant to the Assistant Secretary of the Pension and Welfare Benefits Administration at the U.S. Department of Labor. Hass is also the general counsel of PREA and is a past member of its Board of Directors.
