Inside the Edition: REITs in retreat

The so-called Trump Bump has done wonder for publicly traded stocks. For real estate securities, though, the environment has been more challenging. Prior to the election, REITs experienced a major headwind in the form of rising interest-rate expectations. That headwind has lost its velocity, and REITs might currently be acting as the proverbial canary in the coalmine.
