During the first quarter 2012, 17 real estate funds announced final closings, with an aggregate equity haul of $9.7 billion, according to Institutional Real Estate FundTracker. The first quarter dollar volume represents a 16 percent drop-off from fourth quarter 2011 volume of $11.5 billion.
