Investors' new commitments to private equity real estate funds remained sluggish in the first quarter 2011, but fund-raising activity did pick up from anemic levels recorded in the second half of 2010. During the first three months of the year, 17 funds recorded final closings, raising an aggregate sum of $10 billion, according to Institutional Real Estate FundTracker.
