The money talks: Investors and asset managers discuss how best to tackle the current market environment

What is keeping members of the 2015–2016 Editorial Advisory Board for Institutional Real Estate Asia Pacific up at night? Market timing and strategy were the overarching issues listed when we convened for in-depth discussions — as well as delicious meals and networking activities — during our eighth annual meeting for the publication, held this past October at The Fullerton Hotel in Singapore.

Market timing

Many world markets have been in recovery mode for about seven years, following the global financial crisis in 2008. Some would say real estate cycles typically do not last that long, but others would argue the severity of the financial crisis has necessitated a longer recovery, noted Geoffrey Dohrmann, president and CEO of Institutional Real Estate, Inc, as the discussions on market timing got underway.
