Singapore’s Jurong Island homes in on low-carbon innovation, data centre development

by Kali Arevalo

Jurong Island, the cornerstone of Singapore’s energy and chemicals (E&C) industry, is pivoting to serve growing demand for decarbonisation solutions, specialty chemicals, sustainable materials, circular feedstocks and new energies.

JTC, the government agency in charge of Singapore’s industrial progress, and the Singapore Economic Development Board (EDB) have plans to make Jurong Island a vibrant hub for specialty chemicals and sustainable materials as well as a global testbed for new energies and low-carbon technologies.

Nearly 300 hectares of land on Jurong Island has been set aside for the development of new energy solutions.
