A total of 36 new investment funds were launched during second quarter 2015, showing a slight similarity to second quarter 2014. This similarity is shown when you look back at the beginning of 2014.

The beginning of 2014 started off with a bang, launching 48 new funds, very similar to first quarter 2015 which launched 43 funds. Second quarter 2014’s number of new funds launched dropped down to 34 funds, very similar to this quarter’s numbers.

If fact, if we look back even further this pattern can be seen in 2013 as well, with first quarter numbers at 40 new funds launched versus second quarter numbers at 35 new funds launched. Not quite as much of a drastic difference as 2014 and 2015, but a pattern worth mentioning indeed.

The question is, will this pattern continue as far as showing us that despite the lulls in second and third quarters will the end of the year close out with a large number of funds launched?
