One Step Ahead: How Can Property Investors Best Take Advantage of a Bolder Investment Year?

On a recent trip to Jakarta, I re-read Christopher Koch’s The Year of Living Dangerously. While the novel has nothing to do with property investment, a misquote of the title — The Year of Investing Cautiously — struck me as an apt description of 2012’s real estate investment environment. The question for the year ahead is whether “cautiously” transitions to “boldly” and how best to go about it.

LaSalle Investment Management publishes a yearly document titled the Investment Strategy Annual, and one of the themes of the 2013 edition, published this past December, was to stay one step ahead of core capital.
