Moving front of house: The logistics sector is set to change our lives

The logistics sector is the unsung hero of the global economy and real estate market. When iconic office buildings are sold, they capture the business pages while warehouses are dismissed as just being “four walls and a roof”. However, technological and societal shifts are set to have a positive impact on this unassuming asset class. Logistics centres are poised to become the “store fronts” of the future as consumers around the world turn to multi-channel retail.

Presently, conditions for logistics centre fundamentals are improving, as many of the world’s economies are now in recovery or expansionary mode. Consumption across the developed world has turned a corner, and trade and industrial production are growing again.
