Most women satisfied with real estate career success

Job satisfaction for women in the commercial real estate industry has increased in the past decade, with 59 percent of women in the industry reporting they are very satisfied with their levels of career success, according to CREW Network’s 2015 Benchmark Study Report: Women in Commercial Real Estate. Career satisfaction was even higher for women with more than 20 years of experience; more than three-quarters reported being very satisfied with their career success.

Women’s career satisfaction is on par with that of men in commercial real estate, but a gender wage gap persists. The survey found a 23 percent gap between men’s and women’s median incomes and a 25 percent gap between mean incomes. The wage gap widens as careers advance; the gap is smallest at the entry level and widest at the C-suite.
