From a hospice to a home

by

BNP Paribas Real Estate Property Development is planning to transform a 19th century villa in Milan, Italy, into a residential property as part of a larger 14,600-square-metre development. The villa, a former religious hospice, is located in the middle of a historic 2,000-square-metre park. Builders will strip back changes made over the years to the property and restore it to its original layout. Turned into a nursing home for the poor by the Dumolard family, the villa was initially run by a group of nuns who cared for local people who were destitute and in need. It was eventually inherited by a church group that oversaw the hospice until the late 1980s, when it was discontinued.
