Mapletree acquires 18-acre site to develop logistics facility near Chicago

Mapletree Investments has acquired an 18.11-acre site on Vetter Road in Joliet, Ill., where it plans to develop a premier logistics facility spanning 276,000 square feet.

Strategically situated along the I-80 and I-55 interchange, the site offers access to the Joliet Intermodal Center — North America’s largest and most active inland port — comprising the Union Pacific Joliet Intermodal Terminal and BNSF Joliet Intermodal Terminal.

Mapletree’s Chicago industrial portfolio comprises 65 assets totaling approximately 10.3 million square feet, forming part of the group’s extensive nationwide holdings. With this latest acquisition, Mapletree further accelerates the growth of its U.S. development pipeline.
