London remains the leader

London continues to dominate European capital. During 2015, according to Real Capital Analytics’ Top 40 Markets List, London held the number one slot for capital allocations, the city’s eighth consecutive time that it has held this position.

Two recent reports, one covering the office sector and the other retail, confirm that London continues to be at the top of global city listings. Rents in London’s office skyscrapers are rising faster than those in any other global city, according to the latest Skyscraper Index from Knight Frank.

The report, which examines the rental performance of commercial buildings of more than 30 storeys across the world, shows that rents in skyscrapers in London rose by 9.7 percent in the second half of 2015. London also topped the table for rental growth in the previous Skyscraper Index, which covered the first half of 2015.
