Landlords and tenants must collaborate to achieve sustainability goals

With the pandemic now well into its third year, most office occupiers in Asia Pacific are displaying a clear shift towards embracing real estate strategies that recognise that COVID-19 is here to stay for the long term, according to CBRE Asia Pacific’s 2022 Spring Office Occupier Survey. The survey found most tenants are implementing — or at the very least considering — a range of related initiatives.

While measures to improve employee health and wellbeing were identified as a top priority, having already been implemented by 61 percent of survey respondents, many occupiers are also putting resources usage, including energy and waste reduction, as their priority.

A July 2022 ViewPoint report by CBRE Research expands on the survey findings and identifies the main challenges and priorities facing landlords and investors as they look to respond to growing occupier demand for green buildings, leases and technologies.
