Investor interest in logistics sector remains strong

Investors continue to demonstrate a commitment to the industrial sector. Investors and fund of funds managers ranked the property type among their top three most preferred sectors for investment in 2020, according to the latest ANREV/INREV/PREA Investment Intentions Survey, with 72.5 percent of investors and 80.0 percent of fund of funds managers stating a preference for the sector.

“The logistics sector, if you look at it from an investor point of view, really continues to be among the most favored sectors for many investors, and that’s reflected in the capital inflows that we have seen into the logistics sector globally,” says Martina Malone, managing director, head of global capital raising, at Prologis. She notes Prologis raised $6.2 billion of private capital globally in 2019 — over five times more than the previous year.
