Investable Asia: How Can Investors Build a Strategic Long-Term Asia Real Estate Portfolio?

Asia, the world’s largest continent with 47 countries and approximately 4 billion people, has emerged as a major real estate investment destination. Nonetheless, not every Asian country is suitable for real estate investment. A country of institutional quality should have stable political and social systems, as well as a large or wealthy economy, or an economy with good growth potential. It should also have a relatively transparent and liquid real estate market.

These investable countries are potentially able to generate relatively stable or high long-term returns for investors. Investable Asia consists of 12 countries and territories. With nearly 50 percent of the world’s population and more than 20 percent of the global economy, Investable Asia should not be excluded from investors’ real estate portfolios.
