HQ workplace design: Locations are chosen based on strategic impact, not square footage

Companies now pick headquarters (HQs) based on strategic impact rather than square footage and prestige. They ask whether the space will help attract talent, support operations and foster collaboration. Location counts for convenience and proximity to clients, but it is secondary to the value a space brings to business goals. In short, decision makers view HQs as more than a physical asset —they should enhance strategy.

Mission alignment is now a top priority. Globally focused companies increasingly choose HQ locations that reinforce international ambition and provide access to business networks, trade organizations and cross-border partnerships. Within the World Trade Centers Association (WTCA) network, many HQ tenants leverage not only the building, but the global platform of connections, programming and trade services that come with it.
