On the cape: The Editorial Advisory Board goes east to discuss investor concerns and challenges

For the first time, Institutional Real Estate, Inc., held an Editorial Advisory Board meeting for its flagship publication on the East Coast, gathering at the Chatham Bars Inn in Chatham, Mass., Sept. 12–14. While IREI’s other publications have held board meetings around the world (for example, this fall, Institutional Real Estate Europe’s editorial board met in Munich, while that of Institutional Real Estate Asia Pacific meets in Kyoto, Japan), Institutional Real Estate Americas’ board meeting has been exclusively a “west of the Mississippi” phenomenon.

The relaxed atmosphere of Cape Cod allowed for a relaxed discussion among participants. The attendees of the board meeting included 31 investors, comprising representatives from 10 public pension funds, six corporate pension funds, seven endowments, one foundation, four insurance companies, two family offices and one fund of funds, as well as nine consultants and 44 investment managers,
